
You may be asking what is digiscoping?
It is exactly what it sounds like. You place a digital
camera up to the eyepiece of a microscope or
telescope and take photographs.

I currently use a
Celestron C90 Mak spotting scope. The specs are:

I use 2 different
cameras for different purposes. The Nikon P100 does
1080p HD video and has a long reaching 26x zoom to view
large planets and the moon without a scope.
The Canon A720 IS is great for digiscoping with a 6x
optical zoom. It does well with daylight nature
observing but suffers more with night time astrophotos.
The Nikon has a backlit sensor that captures the stars
and planets much better. |
